How to stop over thinking ;

Living in own head can be calm and results in ; constant meaning making. The more we understand the better we feel. However , rather being in vaccum you may have some interesting analogies. Regulated thinking patterns help to have meaning. Meaning making connects your tongue with your brain. You can prioritise things that make you happy to live inside your head. Mindfulness is to harness positive power of your mind. Each second you know what you are thinking.

Meanwhile, overthinking is an out of control act; here you want to stop but may be helpless. Your thoughts start to over power your intention of not to think anymore.

Underneath are some ways to stop it ; or mindfully shifting your focus on what make sense and joy for you.

Being present with mindfulness ;

Being present connects one to now and here ; that eliminates past and future from the thinking scene. I have never seen people talking about present ( over thinkers ). Over thinkers tend to talk about past or future. Interestingly, I noticed that many people can cut us short in talk while asking about something ongoing to stop us from useless trail of past. Future stress often shows fear of ongoing efforts.

Conscious focus of mind in present activities really curbs over thinking.

Automatic recognition of negative thinking ;

Mostly , any thought is dragged ; reaches to negative because positivity is something sure shot. One can be sure of having one desired end of positivity. Though , negativity is never ending. One can follow and have awareness ; by asking self questions. If you doubt anytime can ask yourself. Whether I am thinking negatively. What are the outcomes of my thinking. It’s a short tool to recognise negative thought. Even your near ones may point you.

Distract yourself with activity of joy ;

Things can be joyous !

Right ! Yes .

Water anything that gives you joy. It may be spending time with nature, playing with your pets.

Some even like clicking photographs. Photography works for me. What works for you ?

Do something good for others ;

You must have experienced if someone is bad for you ; though you remain positive and say ; how nice of you. Forsure, the wicked people change their behavior for you as well. Doing good is feeling content within.

It’s my maid who brought this cake for me on my 36 th birthday. I never had cake throughout all past years. Her , small effort of kindness gave me immense pleasure, boosted my compassion for humanity.

Anytime seeing this picture makes me feel good. Similarly, we can touch life of others by little kindness.

Finding immersive activity ;

Cooking something delicious and different works for me. My whole attention holds my efforts and mind. I cook wholeheartedly. More interesting is ; I never go to think and shake in trying new recepies. I just try and see the result. I do corrections if needed for more enhanced taste and refined results.

You can find out any sinking activity for you that immerses you completely. As I am nature lover. You may like to write, roam , eating food or playing tennis.

Acknowledge activity that went right for you ;

Mindfulness really exerts its charm when you can nevigate what you have done or what are you up to. Past accomplishments and thinking strategies that have gone right for you. May guide you to take that experience in having intuition for in hand future difficulty. In a way , it’s a memory base that restores all good and fruitful thoughts of past.

Let’s say you do not know how to dance or never danced on a song; you had been asked in social circle to perform. It was your confidence that made you stood firm ; listened the lyric and lip synced with physical steps.

Nobody knew it was your first attempt. Now, in future ; in similar situation you can have more resilience to shine up.

Your acknowledgment of your chaos handling made you more strong and confident.
